April showers bring April flowers at the Mount Vernon tulip festival

Sunny skies and vibrantly colored flowers decorate the flat plains of Mount Vernon, located just an hour’s drive north of Kenmore. Captured on April 25, these photos showcase the annual spring Skagit Valley Tulip Festival at the RoozenGaarde.

Shyam Haritham (he/him), Sports Editor
Junior Shyam Haritham is excited to be sports editor for his second year in Nordic. Shyam is ready to learn and grow as an editor and leader this year, while also preparing himself for senior year. In his free time, Shyam loves watching and playing sports, listening to music and hanging out with his friends. You may also catch him outdoors, going on hikes, road trips or at one of Washington’s many lakes. In school, Shyam is also an active member of many Inglemoor organizations, including the tennis team, FBLA, DECA, Mock Trial and Science Olympiad.
Nikolas Novikov (he/him)
Nikolas Novikov (he/him), PR team
Sophomore Nikolas Novikov is excited to grow as a person, writer and artist as a reporter. He hopes to further develop his graphic design skills and create engaging and impactful graphics. Outside of Nordic, Nikolas participates in a variety of clubs, including DECA, FBLA and the Red Cross Club. Nikolas is also an avid paddler for his Sprint Canoe & Kayak team, Cascade, making nationals two years in a row! In his free time, Nikolas loves gaming, procrastinating, listening to music and playing with his ginormous cat named Mocca.
