The Pacific Northwest is full of beautiful plants, animals and land formations. From Mount Rainier to Lake Washington, there are hundreds of places to explore, hike and immerse yourself in nature, all at Seattle’s doorstep. Come with Nordic as we explore three of these hikes.
Rattlesnake Ledge Trail is one of the most frequented trails in the Seattle area, and it offers amazing views from the get-go, with a lake directly in front of the trailhead. Up just two miles from there is Rattlesnake Ledge, with beautiful views of the lake and distant mountains. For avid hikers, Snoqualmie Point Park sits just nine miles up the hill.
Meanwhile, just an hour’s drive from the Kenmore-Bothell area, Mailbox Peak offers a serious workout, but the view featuring Mount Rainier makes the 10-mile round trip well worth it. Whether you take on the steep “old trail” or the more gradual “new trail,” you’ll be rewarded with a sweeping view of Rainier and the verdant Middle Fork Valley.
For a quieter walk close to the city, Washington Park Arboretum offers winding paths through curated gardens, native woodlands and charming ponds. Maintained by the University of Washington and the City of Seattle, the arboretum showcases seasonal blooms just minutes from downtown.
